Welcome President of S.I. Windermere and
District Jane Peat Welcome to our Web page, we hope
you find it interesting and informative. We are a many facetted club,
currently with 30 members, from varying backgrounds. We meet monthly, at the
magnificent Hydro Hotel in Bowness-on-Windermere, with its beautiful views
over the Lake District Fells. Most of us meet for an informal meal at the
Hotel prior to our Business meeting. We also hold committee meetings to
facilitate our work. We have social gatherings and
visits arranged throughout the year, from an Extraordinary Equine Evening to
a guided tour of the local Motor Museum.
We hold a range of fund raising events, from our annual Strawberry
Teas in the summer to Bridge afternoon, and a Coffee Morning at the Marchesi
Centre. We are situated within the Lake
District National Park, a popular destination for walkers and tourists in
search of amazing scenery. If you are one of the many visitors to the lakes,
we wish to invite you to visit our club, at a meeting or at one of our many
events. Please check our programme for details. If you reside in the area, we
would be delighted to meet you. You are most welcome to come along and see
